directed by will steinberger

Columbia University, Schapiro Theatre

February 15-17

Salam, Mansur and Farah form a heavy metal band in Damascus during the rise of the Syrian Civil War. This poetic play follows the band’s growth as its members are forced to pick sides in their homeland or flee to foreign places. This powerful work - Zizi’s second year play in Columbia’s MFA Playwriting Program - examines love, war and home in a homeland on fire. Featuring Anita Abdinezhad, Keivon Akbari, Sinan Eczacibasi, Benjamin Fahra and Clayton David McInerney and the designs of Kelsey Ettman, Izmir Ickbal and Alex Wakim.
